Turns out, people still get their news — and opinions — from social media. It’s going great!
Newsletters are great, podcasts are great, long-form video is great — but a huge segment of the world gets their news from quick little videos on a never-ending feed.
So it’s time to take our talents to YouTube Shorts, TikTok, and Instagram.
We’re fully aware that most people will never convert from their precious feed(s) to reading a newsletter or listening to a podcast, and that’s ok. Really!
Our mission is to help more people, cities, companies, and countries answer the question, “What can I do?”
To do that, we need to reach way more people, where they are: in their feeds, on their toilet, waiting in the school pickup line, whatever.
So we’re looking for a part-time social media producer to join our team, to repurpose everything we already make, to post and manage new stuff we make explicitly for the feeds, and help us find and recruit a million more shit givers to our own feed(s).
You’ll be managing content across our main feeds plus specialized accounts for the What Can I Do? app, our essays and other newsletters, and podcast content — each requiring different content approaches while maintaining our overall mission focus and brand cohesion.
Working directly in our production workflow, you’ll work with our Production Director and editors to receive the longform content and repurpose as necessary in a timely and engaging fashion.
