👋A central hub for all things remote work related. From remote communication and collaboration best practices to transforming your home into a productive workspace. We've got it covered.

In this complicated and uncertain time, we’d like to send our support to all businesses out there. Unforeseen circumstances such as these can present companies of all shapes and sizes with brand new challenges, and we wish you all the best during this difficult time. One major challenge companies are facing is going fully remote. So, we've created this remote work hub with useful resources and tips on how to make working from home as smooth as possible.

Our vision at HubbleHQ is a world where everybody has the right workplace to succeed—and if that happens to be your living room, armchair, or kitchen table right now, then we’re here to ensure that is still the case.

💌Communication

When it comes down to it, it’s all about communication. Communication should be clear and concise plus shared at the right time and in the right place.

Relatedly, try to prioritise asynchronous rather than synchronous communication. Simply put, asynchronous communication is when you send a message without expecting an immediate response. For a really good write-up on why this is so important, read this.

When working remotely, it’s important to have more frequent check-ins with your team. Daily morning stand-ups and retro sessions can help maintain a high level of communication and transparency.

👯Collaboration

The best brainstorming sessions often happen around a whiteboard. Luckily, there are online whiteboards that foster collaboration and visual learning. Here’s a list of some of the best online whiteboards.

Open video calls can be another great way to work with your teammates. Pair people up, start a video call and foster a sense of virtual collaboration. This can encourage your team to take accountability for their work, but most importantly it keeps them sociable.

Here are our guidelines designed to make calls smoother and break down some of the barriers to remote collaboration and communication:

Video Calls - etiquette and top tips

✍️Productivity

To help boost productivity, drawing up a clear plan for your day is crucial. By setting yourself a schedule, you have a visual incentive of what needs to be done by when. Maybe hold yourself accountable and send that plan to the team.

Start your day right, we recommend mimicking your commute in the morning and again at the end of the working day (if you're not self-isolating), to physically and mentally create that separation. It also helps to have a dedicated workspace, a 'home office' that is not your bed or sofa.

🧘‍♂️Wellbeing

These are extremely challenging times and perhaps the most important thing you can do is reassure your team, emphasise kind words and facilitate health and social initiatives.

Your environment plays a huge role in your work ethic. So, transforming your home into a productive workspace is crucial.

🗑 Clean and organise your space. Make sure your desk is free of clutter, hoover the floor and light a candle. You know what they say, tidy desk, tidy mind.

📹 It's worth noting that despite how clean and tidy your space is, you may not want to share it. In video calls, you can turn your video off or play around with different backgrounds on Zoom.

🗣Remote Onboarding

You can replicate a lot of the same onboarding tactics, just remotely.
