A lot of the advice & tips given to content creators are way too generic. It doesn’t help a lot, especially if you are just starting out.

One such piece of advice we often get to hear is to create more reels or write x tweets every day, start a podcast or create long-form videos and so on.

What I’ve realized & learnt over a period of time is that if you are not able to express yourself in a better way or articulate your thoughts & ideas through a particular format, there’s no point in making more of them.

This also makes the whole process of content creation a little difficult and eventually you might give up thinking this might not be for you.

So, how do you go about this?

Pick a content format that works best for you & allows you to articulate your ideas in a simple & better way.

The format you choose to create/curate content in should help you make the process easier & frictionless.

If reels are your thing, go ahead and do more of them.

If a podcast allows you to express yourself like anything, stick to it.

If writing comes in handy, tweets(or even blogs) are your best friend.

So create/curate content in a format that you are the most comfortable with. Don’t spread yourself too thin right from the beginning by trying out all the content formats simultaneously. It requires a lot of time and resources that you might not have initially.

Once you get the hang of your chosen format, you can explore other formats as well. You can always repurpose your content into carousels, threads, blogs, long-form videos, and e-books once you have a proper system in place that makes the whole process of content creation/curation easier.
