With Herald's Public Portal feature, your team can share product updates and/or product roadmap with your users.

Out of the box, your Herald Portal is configured to run at [workspace].herald.fyi. However, it can be easily changed to a custom subdomain, for example, as feedback.example.com, updates.example.net, or portal.example.org.

To enable a custom subdomain, you'll need to change your domain settings with your DNS provider. If you are not sure how that to do this, please see if your IT team can help. If you need technical help with this change, don't hesitate to reach out to us via Intercom or at [email protected].

Steps

• Choose a subdomain, say, updates.fastng.com.
• Configure your DNS for updates.fastng.com to CNAME herald.fyi. Here's an example how it may look like at your DNS provider:

• Now enter updates.fastng.com as the custom subdomain in your Herald app settings.
  • Herald will check if your DNS is properly setup. Sometimes it takes a few minutes for the changes to propagate from your DNS server, so we will keep checking every 30 seconds.
• If you use Vercel to host sibling subdomains (say docs.fastng.com), you'll need to follow these additional steps: How do I setup a custom domain (for Vercel users only)?
• Otherwise, your Public Portal will be live at updates.fastng.com within a few hours.
