Here are the steps to become a chapter of Hack4Impact! We love your enthusiasm. During any of this process if you have questions, feel free to email us at [email protected]!
Step 1: Apply
1-2 weeks
- The first step to founding a chapter of Hack4Impact at your university or high school is filling out our application. Before filling it out, make sure you have 1-2 co-founders who are ready to start the chapter with you. The New Chapter Application Form can be found here:
Google Forms - create and analyze surveys, for free.
- Applications are reviewed on a semesterly basis, usually 1-2 months before the Fall or Spring Semester. Once reviewed, we will reach out to set up an informal interview with your team of co-founders.
Step 2: Interview with National Board
1-2 weeks
- As stated in Step 1, you will have an informal interview with members of the Hack4Impact board. This interview is an opportunity for us to get to know your team a little more and see if your team is qualified/prepared to start a Hack4Impact chapter. It is also an opportunity to learn more about Hack4Impact from directors on the national board.
Step 3: Decision
1-2 weeks
- Following the interview, the directors (interviewers) will discuss your application and interview with the National Board of Directors, in order to determine whether your chapter is accepted or not.
- You will be emailed a decision within 1-2 weeks.
- If accepted, you will get an additional onboarding email that includes information/resources for getting started.
Step 4: Onboarding
2-3 weeks (happens nearer to semester/quarter beginning)
- When accepted, you will receive instructions on how to access all of Hack4Impact's online resources. Most importantly, you will gain access to our Slack community and Notion.
