Is there anything you thought was particularly good about the posting & process? (Excerpts)
- It was accessible and the company seemed approachable
- I really appreciated that the process was streamlined and easy, did not require a tremendous amount of work to be put in for the application and prioritized the applicant's experiences and interests.
- It was an extremely good offer, or at least, it was what should be a normal offer but is actually pretty rare.
- All of it seemed really fair and inclusive, not sure how it's possible to make it even better.
- Incredibly supportive and inviting
- Your commitment to responding to everyone. It's more than most studios do, so thank you kindly!
- The clarity on scope, job expectations and the value to diversity in many fronts had me excited about the prospect of an internship at DGF.
- Opening the listing internationally.
- I liked that you asked specific, thought-provoking questions for candidates to answer. It’s a better way of getting to know applicants than just asking for a cover letter.
- The courtesy of feedback giving meant a lot. Considering the amount of applications sent in, the fact they it was thought important that everyone got a response is heartwarming.
- The wording of the post and the video screamed "this is a safe space for diverse creators" and that made it very attractive
- I liked that it was very open to people who needed to gain experience and to those who had writing skills, but not particularly in video games.
Is there anything you would want to see improved about the posting & process? (Excerpts)
- No, I wish every application was as straightforward and open as this
- Bearing in mind that of course rejection letters would be automated responses, I feel like the wording could've been a bit less austere. It felt VERY canned automated response.
- there should have been an option to link to a portfolio or upload a resume, rather than just focusing on a single writing sample.
- I was slightly disappointed to not receive any feedback regarding my application's failure, but considering the unexpected volume of submissions, you're hardly at fault for that. That would have been a gargantuan undertaking.
- I think it could’ve been established better what kind of candidate you were looking for. The fact that it was entry level, and that you accepted any and all writing samples, made it a bit unclear what kind of qualities and strengths we could’ve played towards. I generally just would’ve wanted to understand better what kind of candidate fit the position.
