Who complements me, helps move the needle on the business and I enjoy working with :

  1. My Superior Twins. Those who have similar skills to myself or even better so they can take over parts of my actual work and cover for me ( my strengths are in attracting mentors, connecting with them and connecting them to each other for opportunities which I listen and research their profiles to spot , hosting learning events, influencing skills in sales , marketing and design skills across social media and presentations, high level business development and sales, big picture thinking and consulting for c-suite leaders, strong people skills such as the ability to just say good morning even though we work remote and check in on how a person/mentor is doing for no reason.
  2. Operator/Executor hire. Those who have skills in my gap areas so they can make me stronger ( my gap areas are things I am not good at, not the best use of my time as a CEO or don’t enjoy doing such as automations, repetitive work such as list building and sales pipeline work , monitoring agentic systems to ensure all working properly, basic mentor comms around engagement, onboarding etc etc)
  3. Improve systems. Those who can improve the systems and how we operate at Gleac. AI enabled.
  4. Culture filter. In 1 ,2 and 3 , you must be constantly learning and thinking, curious and doing the best work of your career.

Who creates more work for me and I do not want to work with:

  1. Those who do not actually think and need to be told every single step of what to do or be corrected constantly for basic lack of thinking. Lack of agency.
  2. Those who are unreliable and I am unsure if they are working or not and need to ask . Low Accountability
  3. Those who are busy doing nothing and fail to drive a business outcome over a 3 month period. Hobby employees.
  4. Those who I have to constantly remind them what to do or follow up on since they cannot self manage themselves and dis-organized. Lack of Self-Management
  5. Those who cannot emotionally regulate themselves , do not take feedback well and drama queens or kings . Lack of Emotional Regulation.
  6. Anyone not interested in growing or learning as part of their weekly/monthly schedule. Lack of Growth Orientation
  7. Those who do not have the basic skills or focus to get their job done in part or in whole brilliantly and unable to learn/get it together within 3 months. Lack of Competence and Coachability
  8. You don’t ask what’s next. When something you are working on is done, the natural move is to ask what needs to happen now, spot the next opportunity, or bring me an idea. Waiting to be told what to do next is not acceptable. Lack of Initiative

Managing Up

Managing up means taking ownership of the relationship with me rather than waiting to be told what to book a call , what to do etc. Every time I have to micro-manage you means I am not doing my CEO job.

It is your job to proactively communicate your progress and make it easy for me to trust you without having to chase you.
