Essential Intents Review
Protocol Adoption / Program Success
Financial Sustainability
DAO Organization
What has emerged as essential work for the DAO that isn’t in an EI?
- Laura - “We're missing the idea of community growth and adoption —> we want communities to be taught to fish” - interesting reflection. Defining community engagement more is important as we enter the next stage. What community, who is our community, what do they want to participate in? EI for collective efforts to nurture community across the board
- Nate - I wrote it. Yes, where I came at it from though was about protocols and programs.
- Joe - There’s the problem and the product, when the EI is put around the product it feels like the wrong structure. “Here’s passport, we’re gonna substitute this product in for the actual answer”. Not solving the full problem. Are we trying to solve a problem or is the product itself the EI? or both?
- Laura - Values & mission work, we’ve been doing it at MMM but haven’t been able to get much engagement. Maybe we’ve done it in opportune times, or not promoting enough? There’s multiple gov posts to be commented on
- CoachJ - I hear the info asymmetry again. There’s a lot going on at the DAO we can’t all have opinions on everything. Decisions get made so we can move quickly but then we go back and go “oh wait”. Info asymmetry or fomo, not sure.
- Jodi - The idea that we should be articulating it as a priority and making sure contributors know there is significant thought being put into this and bringing them along the way. Not that the work is being done, and owned, by MMM. See a desire to clarify our priorities over the coming months.
- Kris - A piece of input was missing. Maybe it was started too early. We maybe should’ve decided together. Decided as a DAO then translated by MMM instead of owned.
- Joe - It’s hard enough to get us all in a room for this conversation. Not knowing what to build is worse than building poorly.
- Laura - Yes the lack of an overarching strategy that aligns us on a vision and how we plan to reach that vision has been an ongoing pain for our WS. Unfortunately we are more focused on putting out fires and don't have much time to actively drive those convos (although we've continued to try)
