Reason for writing this:
- I used to be pretty sad and didn’t enjoy my life much, I am now very happy and live a life that is full of meaning
- I did that by consuming a TON of self help content while spending a lot of time reflecting and experimenting to figure out what works for me
- To be clear, I’m not done but I think of my life as a beautiful project that I love tinkering with - that was not my perspective 2 years ago
- ^^ This was me. If this is you, then I just want you to know that it doesn’t have to be like this. This isn’t just how life is, it can get better
- Most of the self help stuff I read wasn’t as specific, comprehensive or actionable as I would have liked (I love a checklist). That or it was too long and trying to sell you something
- When thinking about life, you need to be able to zoom in to the details and zoom out to make sure you’ve not missed anything
- The aim of this is to provide a structure to do that
- Planning to make this a live document that will always be hosted here on notion
Qualifiers
- You are the only person you can sort out your life - no human knows you like you
- That said, I recommend working through this with a friend for accountability and support
- Most of this is just links to other places, tools and thinkers - I am just your self help librarian
- Any advice I give you is based on my own experience and there’s a chance I’m wrong - please think critically
- Who I am to give all this unsolicited advice? idk why are you reading this if you’re not interested in what I think. Touch grass or something.
