ℹ️ Background

gBook began as a class project during the Entrepreneurship & Lean Startups course at Google Tech Exchange. In the course, we were tasked with building a team, finding a problem, conducting research to validate that problem, then building a minimum viable product. As the course progressed, we realized that this class project had the potential to be so much more, and what you see now is just that.

🚩 Historical Context

The name gBook derives from The Negro Motorist Green Book. The Green Book was created by Alma and Victor Hugo Green during the time of Jim Crow laws and racial segregation in the United States. The Green Book provided Black people with a guide that helped them safely navigate America.

🔭 Our Vision

We want gBook to be the standard marketplace for college students to exchanges good & services across their campuses.

The same way students think of Cash App for payments and Twitter, Snapchat, and Instagram for social media, we want them to think of gBook when conducting business.
