Manhattan Hydraulics is a down-to-earth product studio. Our process is straightforward, proven, and — most importantly — fun. We pride ourselves on being collaborative, technically skilled, and adaptive to change.
We work with clients to launch new products, iterate on an existing product, as well as embedding ourselves in client's teams. You could call us designers, or strategists, or product people — but in reality, we're just a hard working group of people who really **care about solving problems with and for good people. We officially launched our studio in March 2021 and we are excited to find someone who can add to our 6 person team and work with us to solve tough problems together.
We partner with our sister companies, XXIX and Sanctuary Computer, as well as a close network of individual creatives, to create holistic digital experiences from idea to launch.

Work Culture
- Skills Matrix and Peer-Reviewed Salary: We use a skill tree to deterministically set an individual's salary, which helps provide a clearer roadmap for leveling up and remove bias. The salary range for this role ranges ~70-110K, dependent on where the candidate falls in the matrix. You can take a look at our skill tree here.
- Remote Friendly: Our team is remote-friendly and are big on asynchronous communication so that everyone has the freedom to work wherever they want. We believe everyone should have the freedom to set the conditions that enables them to do their best work.
- Start Time Flexibility: We generally start between 8am & 11am (ET) every day and do a solid 8 hours. If you’re an early riser or like to sleep in, either works for us! Our team is largely NY-based, so we try to operate on ET time zone, and encourage everyone to join our weekly retros (11/12pm ET).
- **Transparency & Ownership:** We release out Profit & Loss statements to the community each year, open source our best ideas, and talk business & money with everyone in the company. We’re proud to run our business with integrity, and for that reason, we default to open with our team & community.
- We chill too! Whether it’s gallery afternoons, our Halloween parties, Unity code jams on our HTC Vive, or upstate weekends, we do what we can to break up the workweek. Obviously, COVID has limited us from hanging as much as we’d like, but we still find ways to break from our work and do something fun.
