Overview

Skip Speed is a Chrome extension that automatically increases the playback speed of YouTube advertisements so they finish faster, while restoring normal playback speed when the main video begins. The extension is designed to function entirely locally in the user’s browser and does not collect or transmit user data.

Data Collection

Skip Speed does NOT collect, store, transmit, or share any user data, including but not limited to:

• Personally identifiable information
• Health information
• Financial or payment information
• Authentication information
• Personal communications
• Location data
• Web browsing history
• User activity data (such as clicks, keystrokes, or mouse movements)
• Website content (such as text, images, audio, or video)

How the Extension Operates

The extension runs locally within the browser and only interacts with YouTube pages in real time to:

• Detect when a YouTube advertisement is playing
• Temporarily increase the video player’s playback speed during the ad
• Restore the original playback speed when the main video resumes

All processing occurs locally on the user’s device. No data is sent to external servers.
