KBartender2 support many other file formats as KBar buttons, though the function is not natively supported in KBar yet
Just place these files under [ root-directory/toolbar/ ]

After Effects project
The buttons works the same as Ae menu:
Ae - File - Import - File…

illustrator project
The button import .ai as footage file
But you can extract the layers by right-click the layer and choose "Create → Convert to Layered Comp"
