Modern wireless infrastructure remains capital-intensive, centralized, and often inaccessible for grassroots participation. Despite the ever-increasing demand for high-speed connectivity, significant coverage gaps persist, especially in underserved urban areas and rural regions.
Current telecom infrastructure is costly and centralized. 5G's short range is perfect for crowdsourced coverage, yet there's no transparent onchain system for managing hotspots, proving uptime, and rewarding contributors.
Waddle $5G aims to change this. We propose a decentralized telecommunications infrastructure model that leverages Flow to incentivize community-operated 5G and WiFi hotspots. Our vision is to empower individuals to deploy, operate, and monetize wireless hotspots, creating a resilient, user-owned network.
Waddle is a decentralized 5G network platform built on Flow. It enables individuals to set up and operate mini 5G hotspots by minting unique NFTs to register onchain and contribute to a distributed network infrastructure while earning rewards for uptime and coverage.
