Firescope Inc., the operator of Cupnote (hereafter referred to as Firescope Inc.), considers the privacy of its members very seriously. This privacy policy has been prepared based on the Information and Communications Network Act and aims to explain the status of personal information processing for members using the Cupnote service in as easy and detailed a manner as possible. This policy includes matters related to consent to receive commercial information for profit purposes.
1. Purpose of Processing Personal Information
Personal information will not be used for any purpose other than the following, and prior consent will be obtained if the purpose of use changes.
- Membership registration and management: Processing personal information for purposes such as membership registration, use of membership services, identity verification according to the limited identity verification system, personal identification, prevention of unauthorized use, prevention of unauthorized access, confirmation of the intention to join, verification of consent from legal guardians when collecting personal information of children under 14 years old, subsequent verification of legal guardians, accident investigation, dispute resolution, complaint handling, and delivery of notices.
- Service development, provision, and improvement: Processing personal information for purposes such as demographic analysis, analysis of service visit and usage records, formation of customer relationships based on personal information and interests, provision of customized services based on acquaintances and interests, discovery of new service elements, and improvement of existing services.
- Marketing and promotion: Processing personal information for purposes such as placement of advertisements based on demographic characteristics, validation of services, prize distribution, provision of convenience and opportunities for participation to members, frequency of access, statistics on service usage by members, and marketing activities such as provision of affiliate services (products) and events, SMS service provision, market research, and product development/research, delivery of mail/E-mail, telephone consultations, etc.
- Building a safe internet usage environment: Processing personal information to build a service environment where members can use services with confidence regarding security, privacy, and safety aspects.
2. Period of Processing and Retention of Personal Information
- Personal (credit) information collected for the purpose of membership registration and management is retained and used from the date of membership registration until the date of withdrawal. However, after withdrawal, it is retained and used only for the purpose of investigating accidents, resolving disputes, handling complaints, and fulfilling obligations under the law related to the purpose stated in Article 1.
- Customer's personal information is destroyed without delay when the collection and use purpose is achieved, but it can be retained for the period specified in the following items for other purposes:
- Customers who have caused controversy in the service due to unhealthy service use can retain and use personal information for 1 year for the purpose of requesting investigation from judicial authorities or protecting other customers.
- If it is necessary to retain according to the provisions of related laws, the company can retain and use customer's personal information for a certain period specified by related laws even after achieving the collection and use purpose.
- Records related to contracts or withdrawal of offers: 5 years
- Records related to payment and supply of goods: 5 years
- Records related to consumer complaints or dispute resolution: 3 years
- Records related to display and advertising: 1 year
- All books and documents related to transactions specified by tax law: 5 years
- Records related to electronic financial transactions: 5 years
- Service visit records: 3 months
3. Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties
Firescope Inc. fundamentally does not provide personal information to external parties without user consent.
