TL;DR

Forefront should mint Membership NFTs that exist alongside our $FF ERC-20. The Membership NFT will serve as the sole access token for the community. The ERC-20 will serve as the sole governance token for the community.

Goals

Adopting this proposal will more clearly define “membership” in the Forefront community, reward those who have already been active members and contributors, and drive revenue for the community’s treasury.

What will the $FF token be used for?

$FF will continue to be used for all community governance. This includes:

• Voting on all proposals (token-weighted).
• Making proposals.
• Meta-governance power (voting on other DAO’s proposals through Forefront’s Metagovernance pod).

Additionally, $FF will continue to act as a community currency, playing a key role in:

• Rewarding contributors with ownership.
  • Note: this should only be done in the form of 1) tipping (Dwayne proposal) or 2) supplemental equity alongside (mostly) USDC or ETH
• Creating a culture of tipping throughout the Forefront community.
• Acting as a currency for community-initiated projects.
  • Example: a community member creates an NFT collection, and collectors must mint them using $FF.

$FF will no longer serve as an access token. Token-gating will be reserved for the Membership NFT.

What will the Membership NFT be used for?

The Membership NFT defines membership in the Forefront community. Holders of the Membership NFT unlock all of the projects, content, initiatives, and value of the Forefront community. This includes:

• Token-gated media
  • Newsletter and Journal will continue to be open
  • Signal and research will be token-gated
• All products built for individuals
• All Forefront events
