Go into Settings Page on MidiQuest App
Make sure your device name is correct and enable ‘Advertise MIDI Service’
On your mac, make sure bluetooth is turned on
Open ‘Audio MIDI Setup’ App
From the MenuBar under Window menu, choose ‘Show MIDI Studio’
A new Window displaying MIDI Studio will shows up. Again from the MenuBar under Window menu, choose ‘Bluetooth Configuration’
Find the name of your Phone and click ‘Connect’
If all setup are correct, your phone name will show up in the MIDI Studio app and glows up indicating the device is online and enabled
Open Ableton’s Preference menu
Under ‘Link Tempo MIDI’ section make sure your phone selected as one of the MIDI Input
In the Midi Ports, check the ‘Remote’ In
Choose the MIDI shortcut option from top right of ableton
Create your mapping. Below is example of what I created
Note:
CC Chanel 1 is used for ‘Sound Selector’ usually this is used for Chain Selector in the track to select active sound and trigger automation
CC channel 11-16 is the fader in the center. feel free to map this to control any fader as you wish
