Fella is a virtual clinic that helps men with obesity get to a healthier weight. The prevalence of obesity is equal among men and women, but men represent only ~10% of those using weight loss services. Fella combines doctor-prescribed medication (GLP-1s) to tackle obesity, a one-year program to tackle emotional eating & unhealthy habits, and a cohort of other men to tackle the stigma around their weight. Our behavioral change program is already up and running with promising results and an early strong community. Fella's mission is to help men live longer and healthier lives. We are now building out the telemedicine component and looking for a physician to join us in tackling men's obesity.
The team so far:
The Fella team has previous experience in US healthcare, setting up the first COVID testing sites for Curative in March 2020. Curative has since brought in >$1bn revenue in COVID testing & vaccinations in the past 12 months.
We are backed by top investors such as Y Combinator who previously invested in Airbnb, Dropbox and Nurx.
Job role
We are looking for a mission-driven physician to dramatically improve the health of men with obesity. This is an opportunity to get involved at an early stage with a startup. You'll be the first doctor joining the team and will play a key role in the clinical operations. Initially, the role will involve defining the clinical protocols and providing telehealth consultations. In future, there is scope to take a medical leadership role including joining our clinical advisory board and hiring and managing physicians and nurses.
It is the ideal role for someone that already runs their own independent practice and is looking to work with an early-stage startup.
