we took a bus over to the hill erice sits on. we took a cable car up the hill. once in erice, we walked around, the path very uphill. we went to aphrodite/venus’ castle, but it was closed. instead, we walked around the gardens, finding shells in the rocks. for lunch, i had arancini (rice ball with filling) and fries. it was pretty good. we walked around to a couple of shops, where i bought some souvenirs for my family. we saw many cats in the shops that let us pet them. we went to a couple museums while there, but they weren’t very exciting to me. before we left, i had the best gelato of my life. i ordered strawberry and coconut from liparoti gelateria. on the way back in the cable car, we were in the clouds, and it was so cool. after we got back to the hotel, we changed and went to the beach. i took some polaroids, digital photos, and collected more sea glass. after the beach, we went out to dinner to a seafood place called moai. the food was okay, at least for me, but everyone enjoyed their food.
