Overview

Starting today, holders of either 10 or more Bits, or at least 1 Legendary Bit are receiving early access to a new feature that allows them to edit the appearance of their Bit. The changes are off-chain and only made on the EightBit.me website. For example, if your Bit is equipped with a jacket, you are now able to remove it.

Our goal is to further expand the availability of this Early Access feature to all holders on Thursday, July 14th, 2022.

What is “Early Access”

This “Early Access” feature is not complete and may or may not change further. If you are not excited to use this this feature in its current state, then you should wait to see if the feature progresses further in development.

EightBit Early Access

Edit Home is now Edit Bit

The Add/Edit Home button has been renamed to “Edit Bit” and clicking on it will now prompt you to sign a transaction in order to prove ownership of your connected wallet.

If you have permissions to do so, there will be a new option to ‘Change Appearance’. Clicking on this will take you into the Builder.

Features

The Builder allows any Bit to un-equip their existing traits and replace them with any ‘Common’ trait. For example, if your Bit owns a Hat or Jacket, you have the option to remove them or change the color (not applicable to all items).

Due to how Outfits work, changing any trait on a Legendary Bit will un-equip your existing Outfit and equip the Bit with some modest defaults.

We hope to expand this feature in the future with the addition of Loot Boxes and other ways to earn new items to accessorize your Bit.
