Hi there, thank you so much for editing our YouTube tutorial! Here's a basic guide on what we are after:

  1. Please make sure voice audio and computer audio are balanced and to a standard volume. Feel free to process spoken vocal recording with EQ, compression etc. Please do not edit the audio recorded from the software - this needs to be left as is (besides overall volume adjustment) - this is an audio/music related tutorial so this is key.
  2. Remove awkward long pauses, gaps at intro or outro, or overly repetitious phrases (as long as the flow of the sentence is kept). I have clapped where I have made a mistake in the recording, so as to help you edit easier.
  3. Make sure my webcam is present, but move it around freely if it intrudes with what is being explained in the tutorial.
  4. Please add cursor callouts in Screenflow - you can leave these on for the whole video.
  5. A lot of our tutorials are done inside a Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) - inside these applications are 'plugins' - secondary windows that music production work will be done in (e.g. Serum). Please zoom into these via normal zoom or window highlighting.
  6. Please use arrows or other annotations if something is unclear or hard to see.
  7. Please use text boxes to denote sections (these are clearly numbered and signposted - I will have attached a rough script draft to help you further).
  8. Maintain the energy throughout the video - we don't want hyper-edited footage but feel free to zoom in and out, move around the webcam video and add other movements to increase video engagement.
  9. Export video at 60fps, 6000kbps, 320kbps stereo audio, 100% of original resolution (the Web-High preset in Screenflow is close with some tweaking).

Any other questions - email me at [email protected]. Once you're done, please send back an export with the edited Screenflow file.

Cheers 😁
