EcoMap Technologies is hiring a Research Analyst (lead Entrepreneurial Ecosystem Expert) to help us expand our EcoMap platform into new entrepreneurial communities across the US and abroad.

The Research Analyst will spearhead our data collection efforts. The Research Analyst falls under our Entrepreneurial Ecosystem Expert classification, so we're looking for a team member who has experience working within an entrepreneurial community: you may have worked for an accelerator, at a nonprofit that supports small businesses, or you might have been an entrepreneur yourself. What's important is that you have a familiarity with the different organizations and resources that support startups, small businesses, and nonprofits.

You'll be responsible for researching Resources & Organizations within entrepreneurial ecosystems, being our in-house expert on the different communities we launch in, and raising awareness of EcoMap and the data that we gather.

You are good at researching, tracking down information online, & meeting deadlines: This role is centered heavily around independent desk research, and you'll be responsible for tracking down as much information as possible about Resources and Organizations within a given ecosystem. You should appreciate uninterrupted computer work, and have a good memory for what you have or have not already looked into. Time management and a hearty respect for deadlines is critical for this role

  3. You have an inherent understanding of entrepreneurial ecosystems: It's really hard to train people who have not worked in entrepreneurial ecosystem development on the parlance and nuances of the industry. Having a background in ecosystem development is crucial - it will guide your research, and make the process of classifying what you find exponentially easier

What You'll Do


Specifically, you'll: - Perform research to identify Resources and Orgs in any given ecosystem - Classify these Resources & Orgs based on categories prescribed in our data paradigm - Work with the Data Team to ensure that we have complete coverage over each ecosystem that we enter into

Specifically, you'll: - Be the go-to person for questions about our data paradigm (specifically the meaning of our different classifications, tags, etc) and insights into both the ecosystems we have entered and the field of ecosystem building as a whole - Train & Onboard new Data Specialists and Entrepreneurial Ecosystem Experts as we grow
