I have been involved with creating and managing super-user programs at various companies. They go by different names depending on the company:
- champions program
- ambassadors program
- fellows program
No matter the name, these programs celebrate the already highly-engaged community members who have been deeply involved in the organization or product. These programs acknowledge the significant contributions already happening within the community by further empowering these individuals to have a positive impact on the product or organization and the community.

Some important considerations that need fleshing out for these kinds of programs are:
- What’s in it for the members? Why would someone want to be involved in a program like this? When people decide to join, what are their motivations?
- How can we structure the program such that the members are able to most effectively support the product or organization?
- What kinds of documentation should be provided to the members?
- How does someone get involved with or apply to the program?
- What is the program duration and the process for renewal?
- How is the program evaluated?
