Lots of great KATA updates were shipped over the holiday period! We’re really excited to bring you the first iteration of Metrics, which brings measurement to execution and enables you to assess how much is getting done at the Team and Project level, and to compare where the majority of your effort is going.

Being able to measure and improve your org’s execution is a fundamental part of any engineering leader’s job. KATA Insights is here to help you do just that. KATA enumerates the things that matter: what Projects your people and Teams are working on and how that mix shift changes over time.
This is a Beta launch covering Metrics for your Teams, but much more will be coming in this space over the coming weeks and months.

KATA Events are really useful as a high-context audit trail for Projects so we’ve added more functionality to tie them together and improve this further. Needs Discussion Events can now be resolved with a Decision or Note, which neatly ties together not just the Discussion but also how it was resolved.

KATA works by providing visibility across your tools, but we received feedback that not all tools are created equal and it would be useful to get a deeper view into task progress on Projects.
We’ve added new indicators to each Project dashboard and the All Projects views to give you an at-a-glance view of the progress of any Jira, Linear, Github Issues or Shortcut tasks that are attached to that Project.
