A Bit of Background on Dovetale

Case Study: Wandering Bear Coffee

But they didn't just perfect their packaging... the extra TLC they put into their brewing process and the extra coffee they use in their recipes makes their coffee extra strong & surprisingly smooth. And for those staying current, all of their products are "latest-trend-certified" (i.e. Paleo, Keto, vegan, Beyonce-diet, etc.)

The Wandering Bear + Dovetale Backstory

At the beginning of 2020, Wandering Bear Coffee was focused on scaling their foodservice business and increasing their retail footprint. With offices drinking up their boxed cold brew, it made sense to continue focusing their business on those B2B sales. Enter COVID-19. With the immediate shift from offices to WFH, their business went from 100 to 0 overnight. They were left to change their business model completely to focus on their then passive DTC revenue.

With no prior influencer, affiliate, or even digital marketing strategies the team had, admittedly, no idea what they were doing when they signed up for Dovetale. At the start, they passively worked with influencers to gain brand awareness and hopefully grow their own branded Instagram following, but did not see those partnerships as an actual sales function until they heard about Community.

As one of the first brands to use Dovetale's Community app in its beta form in January 2021, Wandering Bear went from having no affiliate program to having one as strong as their Straight Black Cold Brew. Learning on the fly, the team found that working in the Dovetale platform was easy and intuitive, allowing them to start building their Community quickly and efficiently. And by curating their Community with influencers they hand-picked and invited directly they were able to get their first member affiliate sale in just 4 days.

Without expecting any revenue from their Community in Q1 of 2021, they achieved $14.5K sales in member driven revenue in just 3 months.

Brewing the Wandering Bear Community

To get applicants, the Wandering Bear team wanted to target specific types of influencers they knew would align with their brand customers and values (moms, millennials, the WFH crew, etc). Using Dovetale's enterprise search tools they were able to target these types of influencers and source all within Dovetale.
