The Ukrainian IT market is one of the largest in Europe.

Only Poland has more technical specialists than Ukraine - 450k, while in Ukraine this figure is rapidly approaching the mark of 300k engineers.

Compared with other countries, there are 1.5 times more engineers in Ukraine than in Romania, the Czech Republic, and Hungary (up to 200k in each of these countries). And several times more tech talent than in Bulgaria, Lithuania, Estonia, and Latvia.

If we compare the number of companies in Ukraine that use the outsourcing (technical consulting) model, Ukraine and Poland are almost equal here, both are several times larger than other European countries.

• 285,000 - IT specialists in 2021 (according to "IT Ukraine" association)
• $6.9 billion - in export revenue (according to Ukraine’s National Bank)
• 38% - growth of the IT industry in 2021 compared to 2020
• $8.5 billion - expected export by the end of 2022 (+20% compared to 2021)

Demographics:

• Kyiv, Lviv, Odesa, and Dnipro - the main hub cities where most IT specialists are based
• 29 years - the average age of the IT industry specialist
• 25% - women, 75% - men
• 87% have a University degree
• 58% are self-educated
• while martial law is in effect, only women can leave the country, men predominantly can’t, with some exceptions.
