About Designer Fund

The mission of Designer Fund is to invest in leaders and empower them with design to improve the world. We invest between $350K – $1M in early stage tech startups with founders who value design including Stripe, Gusto, Notion, Omada Health, Netlify, Commure and more. With every investment, our goal is to create exceptional products in huge markets that traditionally have poor user experiences like financial services, digital health and enterprise. Our community includes top designers and founders from companies like Apple, Facebook, Google, Airbnb, Pinterest, Dropbox and more.

To further our mission we invest heavily in design education and professional development. Over the past few years we have produced a range of unique experiences including leadership programs like Bridge and Designer Founders Guild; community conferences such as Source and Women in Design; event series including Design for Business Impact; and our latest workshop, Business Essentials for Designers. We now have hundreds of alums from our programs and workshops that we want to continue building relationships with and help succeed as design leaders to amplify our impact. We're looking for someone who can facilitate meaningful learning experiences and valuable introductions that help designers and our companies grow.

Opportunity

With the help of a Community Manager, there's an opportunity to improve how founders and design leaders in our community learn from each other and connect with our portfolio companies. The first part of this role includes creating value for founders and design leaders through unique programming, events and content. This is where passion and an authentic desire to build meaningful relationships is crucial. The second part of this role is being a super connector. This will include managing a talent pool of designers looking for new opportunities, curating leads for select roles within our portfolio, and making high quality introductions when there's a mutual fit. You can also have lasting impact by equipping our portfolio companies with best practices that help them assemble and run world class design teams.

What’s in it for you

You’ll get to build your network with founders and design leaders from top companies, gain insight into how the best design teams work, support companies that are improving the world and help setup designers with life-changing opportunities. As a part of our team, we'll also invest in your personal and career development. There are multiple career tracks we can help prepare you for including joining a tech company as a design producer, program manager, or design ops specialist.

You'll get to collaborate and learn from exceptional design leaders on a regular basis through our programs, events and content.
