First Draft

This chapter is presented in a top-down narrated pixel-based role simulator game.

P found out that the previous chapter is actually a novel, of which he is the author. His mind fell into the fiction world, because he was too focused on writing the plot, and immersed himself with the emotions of the main character.

P is a writer in the modern world. He put lots of effort into his novels, but barely get any appreciations. His parents supported him, but after his father became sick in hospital, they can no longer give P financial help. P has no close friend or lover, he lives in a small apartment by himself. Driven by loneliness and ego, he created a fictional lover and wrote his own legend. However, writing down his lover's death has deeply hurted his mentals.

The player can zoom into the book on the desk again, and see a 1-page outline of the novel. The player can click to edit the novel, and the entire storyline will change.

P changed his story. Seeing himself happily living with his lover since then, he was very satisfied. Meanwhile, he was told from a call that his father's illness was emergently exacerbated, and his father may not live any longer. P rushed through the town, into the train, all the way to his father's hospital bed. His dad told him a few heart-breaking last words. P was devastated.

When in the hospital, the scene keeps playing the "beep" sound of the heart-rate monitor. The beep intensifies as P's father gets closer to death, and finally becomes a continuous straight tone.

However, the player is able to click on the monitor to drag the heart-rate curve, and wobble it up and down. Doing so can make the beep sound steady again, but it will cause a graphic glitch in the scene, visually and sonically similar to the previous one. The scene then will transform into a digital screen on a 3D computer(See cutscenes for more specific references). Meanwhile, the scene of Chapter Three loads.
