Are you looking to set up a market garden on the boundaries of Exeter? If you are, here is a unique opportunity. Living Soil Garden is a well-established half-acre no-dig, regenerative market garden looking for new head gardener(s). Flavia and Dario, who are currently running the garden, are moving on. Together with John, the landowner, they are looking for someone to take over the project.

This is an excellent opportunity for an individual or group to start a market garden without many of the headaches of setting up from scratch.

The site is fully established, with all the infrastructure needed to run a successful market garden all in place. This includes washing, packing and storage facilities, a walk-in chiller and a weekly on-site market to purchase the produce.

Aerial footage of the site, as well as video-tours of the garden can be watched on Living Soil Garden’s Youtube Channel.

More information about the way Living Soil Garden currently operates can be found on our website, or on social media: Facebook, Instagram, Telegram

The site

The growing area is 1/2 acre + a polytunnel (16x7m). The field has 142 permanent no-dig beds (10m x 30″) in great condition, and there is space and potential to add at least another polytunnel.

Irrigation is already set up (overhead outside and drip tape in the tunnel), as well as french drains and an artificial windbreak.

The area is fully fenced (rabbit- and deer- proof).

John, the custodian of Goffin Land, is looking to rent a package including:

At present the agreement is on a share farm basis. Going forward John is seeking the right person(s) to carry on the synergy between Living Soil Garden and Goffin Land.

He is asking for £7k (negotiable) per year. Please note that £4k of the £7k are for the use of the barn.
