The gods of magic have sealed in crystal. Find the crystals and free them to harness their power in a third-person, 3D puzzle platformer. Gather materials to craft spells to traverse the world.

Overview

This project started as an idea for a homebrew DnD game where players would find scrolls and use them to craft spells as they travel the world to free the gods of magic. I had a random thought that it would be fun to try to implement this idea into a video game but only did minimal work on it. When it was announced that the students in the Game Studio class could build a prototype for a game to have a chance at making it into a full-semester project, this game jumped right back into my head and I decided to start working on it for real. I build the prototype myself and had to use tutorials to learn the coding I needed, but I am very pleased with the final result of two weeks of work.

^ You exit the room, the sky is dark, though you have a feeling that it isn't night. A dark castle looms above you. The courtyard is empty, save for a glowing crystal and a colorful disk with a ring of torches around the perimeter. The crystal calls to you to bring it to the disk.

^ Placing the crystal frees the god of light. It brightens the sky and asks you to free the other gods, but first you must complete a challenge to prove your commitment and ability. You enter a room with cubes, runes, and a scroll. You take the scroll and feel a well of energy just beyond your reach. Correctly matching the cubs unveils items that you use to activate the scroll. The scroll fills you with power and the ability to jump in mid air. The path forward is now available to you.

^ You enter the dark castle and have to make your way across outcroppings of rock and reach the top of a wall. Before you, the path continues on just a double jump away, but another crystal sits right below it. You grab the crystal and move on, noticing a menacing, red glow from the other end of the hallway.

^ Your final test is to cross a river of lava. At first, it is no different than your first jump puzzle, just with higher stakes, but then you find there are no more ledges to jump off of. You must cross river on stones that sink and float in the boiling hall. You make your first jump...
