Coaching reviews

Dave is a fantastic coach. He is an empathetic listener, and did a great job at setting goals based on my experiences and what I wanted to get out of our time together. I came into our sessions with my topics and experiences, and Dave always listened attentively while encouraging me to dig deeper. I particularly enjoyed the journaling prompts and experiences he recommended I pursue outside of our sessions which I still practice even though our program has concluded. I highly recommend Dave to anyone interested in an integral coach.

Dave is not a coach, but a detective of cognitive biases with a radar for cognitive blindspots. You might be able to fool yourself, but you can't fool Dave! He will help you spot faulty thinking patterns and direct you towards appropriate ways of challenging them. After building a good understanding of your goals, he will keep you on track with gentle authority. What I also appreciated is Dave's sensitivity to the difference between coaching and therapy; he always highlighted which topics could be better discussed with a therapist. 10 sessions helped me make progress towards my goal as well as increased my self-confidence and sense of self-efficacy.

Throughout our coaching engagement, I valued Dave’s inquisitive, energetic, resourceful, and collaborative approach. His strengths include asking powerful questions, inviting further reflection between sessions, and maintaining the thread throughout sessions in service of overarching goals and transformation. From our first session, Dave encouraged me to examine and reframe the stories that I tell myself about both myself and others. Our subsequent work together helped me to refine realistic personal expectations before moving toward those goals with greater alignment, ease, and intention. I am grateful for this clarity and momentum.

Without Dave's help and coaching I would not have heard my own voice. Dave helped me to not only hear and see the signals around me, but to frame them in a way which was tremendously helpful towards building momentum on my own journey. Via just the right blend of listening and talking, Dave empowered me to see what was rising to my surface and make my own decisions on taking action. I could not recommend him more as someone to work with.

I didn't know what to expect from coaching since it was my first time. But Dave is extremely easy to talk to, which was a valuable asset. He helped me find balance and view things with perspective, enabling me to enjoy the good aspects of life and tackle challenges more effectively. He undoubtedly helped me to improve my life overall, in both work and personal realms.

Before our session, I didn't know what to expect from coaching. Particularly, I wanted to hear from a coach's perspective about certain issues since I am so used to thinking from a therapist's lens. I appreciated Dave’s empathetic, calm presence and directive approach. He asked straightforward questions and offered perspective, which helped me get out of my head and gain more clarity. I see the differences between coaching and therapy, and I see now that healing can come from many different sources other than therapy. Thank you!

If you're looking to be the best, most in-tune self that you can be, coaching can be very helpful. Through his help and guidance, I was able to:

  1. Maintain presence and improve interpersonal relationships with family
  2. Better understand and connect with my emotions
  3. Better center myself when frustrated

And while I had overcome some challenges prior to working with Dave, I'm in a better and stronger place now.
