7/1

I’ve always seen some symbolic meaning behind July first as the official marker of the half year. I wanted to mark that as the official

5/1 Increasing user post rate & analysis

User posts fell a bit below 30 and I sent a monthly recap email to people who haven’t posted the last 1-2 weeks but used to post. That email actually ended up reactivating 9 users!

4/15 User based feature development

Due to the speed of AI driven development I was able to implement several user requested features.

I also noticed that numbers were slightly decreasing. I wondered if there was a way I could incentivize users that were slightly active, as in those who posted maybe a week or two ago to come back.

3/15 Alternative modes of expression

In vein of IPW being a place for abstract methods of expression, I was very interested in adding a way for users to represent themselves in other ways than the visual. At first I was interested in asking users to represent themselves as some abstract concept, eg. a flower, meme, etc. I then realized I was really asking for their favorites. I prototyped some ways to ask users for these on onboarding.

When testing I learned that many people did not want to do this on onboarding and would instead churn. I decided to add it in a more subtle way, only appearing if the user has hovered over their profile.

So far 10% of active users have found and used this feature. Wonder if I can bump this up more!

2/15 Deprecating financial mode, onboarding, profiles

After running financial mode as an experiment I found only 7% of users actually had it turned on. I decided to deprecate it to improve the space amount of space I had on the profile and improve the onboarding experience.

A huge blocker to me finishing the profile experience was the perceived amount of time it would take. However after getting featured in Naive Weekly, I decided the number of new users would be good to try pushing this new feature and seeing if people filled it out.

2/8 Retroposting, UI fixes etc.

At the request of a few users I added retroposting which allows you to fill in your grid. Interestingly enough, a user who requested it hasn’t used it yet. I did notify people via the weekly email that this
