Internships are an important part of many students' career development. While it's true that internships help, they are not essential, particularly the summer before you graduate. Internship alternatives can build your resume year-round and graduates without internships find dream jobs at top employers too. ➡️ CICS Partner Pathways

<aside> 💡 How to research a potential scam offer:

➡  Check out the company’s website - does it look suspicious? Are there major errors in formatting, language, or context? If you can't verify a phone number, location, web address, or employees, you're potentially looking at a scam.

➡  Check the email address an offer was sent by - was the email sent from a personal account or with a URL that doesn’t match other company communication? Enter it into Google, e.x. “companyhires.com”, to see if there are posts online about others receiving suspicious communication from the sender.

➡  Look up the sender and try to find them on LinkedIn. If you can't find information on the sender, ignore or report it. Check the company’s LinkedIn page to see if they’ve posted about recent scam activity. Check the names and titles of their employees to assess legitimacy of the role or past roles employees have held.

➡  Reach out to CICS Careers! Check our Slack channel to see if anyone has posted about receiving a similar suspicious offer, or DM a Careers team member to check in and get support when doing your research.
