This page is out of date. It doesn’t include updates (emails/social media) after June 6, 2025. I began crafting a duplicate and more comprehensive page for press, government, and legal aid that provides greater clarity and is in a more organized and navigable format/layout.
On June 8th, 2025, I was sent these emails from the owner:
Mainly because of the pressure to come to an agreement due to “unsavory information” and “everyone [having] a past” (which felt like blackmail), I rejected her offer of $1500. Things progressed, but ultimately after writing a piece on Jun 19, 2025 that addressed the situation without naming any names and was intended to be motivational, I decided to distance myself from the owner and the situation.
Once she saw my essay, she emailed me (below) and posted on her private social media (link) a manufactured and contradictory story:
Overall, this was such a strange situation with even more unhinged emails. I have no history with the owner, was a paying customer, and offered to support her with damage control. Due to her high reactivity and willingness to create stories, I decided to completely disengage and block her.
Earnestly, I don’t care where you get your coffee and have never asked for a boycott. That said, PLEASE be wise and protect yourself from unsafe businesses. Owners like this exist. And though I empathize with the overwhelm she had to have experienced due to the community’s response, it still does not excuse her from engaging law enforcement and implicating an innocent stranger and paying customer in serious crimes to save face.
As for amends with the owner, I’ve made peace with this situation. She should make peace with God. I do not want to be connected to her in any way, and there is more than enough information in writing to pursue if she is unable to make the same commitment to no contact.
To the Lancaster City Community, thank you again for your support. You got me through a REALLY hard time, and I owe you a significant debt of gratitude.
I truly believe that this is all for the good, and am INCREDIBLY blessed to be stronger and to continue serving Lancaster, PA.
