Notes

  1. Toasted Couscous Salad w/ Harissa Chicken (The Mediterranean Dish | Suzy Karadsheh): The toasted couscous salad was really flavorful (I loved the mint!) — I liked it more than Allen did, overall it was good and nutrient-dense. The Harissa Chicken was good but nothing special. Overall easy and nutrient-dense. (PITA: 6, Outcome: 7)
  2. AK Winter House Salad (The Ambitious Kitchen Cookbook | Monique Volz): Delicious. I skipped the sweet potatoes because of time but we didn't miss them — we ended up adding leftover chicken to this the next day and it was perfect. Would absolutely make this again. (PITA: 4, Outcome: 9)
  3. Sheet-Pan Pizza w/ Fried Garlic Sauce (By Heart | Hailee Catalano): This was a great start — the pizza sauce had great flavor and added some subtle garlic notes throughout. I loved it. The dough itself was good, but could use a bit more fat I think (like brushing with butter or oil?) to get it a little crispier. And then the toppings — they were good but I think I need to do a mix of cheeses vs. just straight mozzarella to add some "oomph" especially for something like a pepp. Overall, good and definitely something to build on (and way cheaper than delivery!). (PITA: 5, Outcome: 7)
  4. Blueberry Ricotta Cake (Snacking Cakes | Yossy Arefi): Delicious, light, moist, lovely. No notes. (PITA: 3, Outcome: 8)
