These are the community guidelines for Castle. They'll probably evolve some over time as we learn more about how Castle and the community and ecosystem around it work and times and people change. But most of these are abstract and timeless enough that they should apply to any good, healthy community.

Make Castle Fun

This is the closest thing this community has to a north star. Make Castle a fun place and make the people on it have fun. What does this mean concretely? Here are some examples:

• If you're someone who makes games, focus on making them fun to play; not just addictive or things that make money.
• If you're chatting in a chat room, don't attack someone else for being a newb because, for a lot of people, that would ruin their day and not be fun. Similarly, don't make jokes about people's mothers, etc.

Whenever you're wondering if something fits into the Castle Community Guidelines or not, the easiest thing to do is ask yourself: Will this make people on Castle have fun? And if the answer is yes, you're probably doing great. And if it's no, then you're probably doing something wrong.

Give Credit to People Who Deserve It

We want to create a space on Castle where sharing code and sharing assets and sharing ideas is normal and happens all the time. There are a bunch of ingredients in getting this right but the most basic is just making sure that whoever creates something can maintain ownership of that and get credit for the work they did.

• By default, on Castle, you can assume that things are open source and free to use.
• If they aren't, respect the creators wishes and don't rip those things
• When you do use the work of other's to make your own thing, make sure the original creators get proper credit. And if there is monetization involved, a fair slice of the monetization pie (we'll probably have specific rules around this as time goes on and monetization becomes a common thing).
