Just wanted to give a testimony to the fact that the Crash method works.
I was applying to various copywriting jobs in the area and really wanted to work at one place in particular. For all the other locations, I just sent a resume and cover letter. For the company I prioritized, I researched their brand, started a content audit of their site, and then utilized SEO to write an article they could use on their website. Their marketing coordinator got back to me the very next day and I had an interview the following week. This stuff works.
Not a single place I sent a resume to has gotten back to me yet, either, so it reinforces the fact that employers are looking for value, not resumes.
The job hunt has been a lot of fun so far. I've applied for 11 jobs, applying for #12 and #13 today.
I've been moving too slow in this hunt, and putting all my eggs in one basket when I shouldn't be. I'm going to start applying for a job (or more) per day.

Crash landed me several interviews for positions I'd have no chance of landing with a typical resume. Many of the interviewers told me as much—right before they told me that they liked my Crash pitch so much they wanted to interview me anyway.
The job I eventually landed wasn't because of a Crash pitch, but simply because of my profile. The company that hired me saw the profile I'd set up and decided to interview for a high-pressure marketing role, something with which I had zero experience. I ended up getting the job.
Highly, highly recommended, both for the product and the team behind it.
Speaking from personal experience here. Crash works! Period. There isn't a better way (or a better time) to take your career into your own hands, build a video pitch, and land a job you love!
