Mizu is a mobile app that helps people living with chronic kidney disease (CKD) to master their health condition with medically validated tools and resources. Its current core functions entail a vital parameters logbook, a kidney-specific food diary, medication tracking, educational resources and a travel dialysis finder.
The app provides support along the entire treatment path and covers all stages of CKD progression. This means that is optimized to best accompany people with a first diagnosis of CKD, those undergoing regular dialysis treatment, as well as people living with a functioning kidney transplant.
Mizu was developed in close collaboration with leading nephrologists, university hospitals, patients and caregivers. New functionalities are built with ongoing partnerships with medical research institutions, healthcare infrastructure providers, as well as patient associations and support networks. Additionally, Mizu partners with select other industry players in nephrology.
Mizu is widely available in App- & Playstore for free and is currently provides support in English, German, Italian, French and Spanish.

Zu den aktuellen Kernfunktionen der App gehören ein Logbuch für wichtige Vitalwerte, ein nierenspezifisches Ernährungstagebuch, ein digitaler Medikationsplan, Wissensinhalte und eine interaktive nephrologische Karte für unterwegs.
Die App bietet Unterstützung entlang des gesamten Behandlungspfads und deckt alle Stadien des CKD-Verlaufs ab. Das bedeutet, dass sie darauf ausgelegt ist, Menschen mit einer ersten Diagnose einer Nierenschwäche, Menschen an der Dialyse, sowie Nierentransplantierte bestmöglich zu lotsen und zu begleiten.
Mizu wurde in enger Zusammenarbeit mit führenden NephrologInnen, Universitätskliniken, PatientInnen und Pflegekräften entwickelt. Neue Funktionalitäten werden mit medizinischen Forschungseinrichtungen, Infrastrukturanbietern, sowie Patientenverbänden entwickelt. Außerdem kooperiert Mizu mit ausgewählten Industriepartnern aus der Nephrologie.
