TPM Learnings first 3-6 months

  1. When you join, the teams you work with will likely already be in-flight with some projects, and have some goals that they are already working towards. For much of this, you will likely be a sponge, and also bring a fresh perspective to challenge assumptions
  2. Our product is data-heavy and computationally heavy. You will need to take significant time focusing on testing out and using the product in a sandbox environment, reading our internal and public documentation, and mapping out and creating a mental model of how our product works.
  3. The loan operations domain is complex; you will need to spend time talking to subject matter experts inside and outside of Canopy, reading about the domain, watching videos, and thinking about how the product decisions we make impact our clients’ businesses.
  4. Building relationships with teammates and leaders across teams at Canopy.

TPM Impact first 3-6 months

  1. You will make and socialize small and big decisions that help your pod stay focused on their goals and understand how all work they do affects the experience of our users
  2. You will contribute to our product evidence board and form testable hypotheses to help us understand how to delight our users
  3. You will provide input to quarterly planning (Canopy currently follows quarterly company planning)
  4. You will present at company Feature Showcases, and weekly Product Planning Meetings to articulate the value of our work
  5. You will be the PM Point of Contact on active client delivery projects to onboard new customers to communicate best practices, make product decisions that affect their experience, and listen to their needs directly
