As our communities continue the fight to end COVID-19, we see an excellent opportunity for AmeriCorps program partners and members to join together with volunteers and offer critical support in a visible and powerful way through an AmeriCorps Month of Action. Using César Chávez Day as the kickoff, we ask that you join us in supporting community outreach, public health education, and COVID-19 vaccine registration throughout the month of April.

“With vaccine supply increasing and by expanding eligibility to more Californians, the light at the end of the tunnel continues to get brighter,” said Governor Newsom.

As local leaders, we look to you to work with your AmeriCorps members to determine which types of events are best suited for the communities you serve. We also recognize that many of you are already doing this important work and ask that you consider ways to expand your current reach and efforts by creating opportunities to include volunteers in supporting community outreach, public health education, and COVID-19 vaccine registration.
