Just taking a step back, we built India’s largest virtual tuition platform product called BYJU’S Classes. Because of tight timelines and getting the product up from zero to one, the approach we took was to build a design infrastructure that is scalable, and flexible enough to test all the hypotheses based on an ideal version.
BYJU’S Classes went live and we started making iterations to enhance things etc. Once the base version is robust and working well, we started taking up projects to increase different KPI metrics like attendance, engagement, watch time, doubt solving etc.
Today I will show one of the ideas out of the bunch, we implemented for increasing Engagement in the class
We started with doing research both primary and secondary in trying to understand what might be the reasons for less engagement in students.
We took diverging approach of ideating for increasing engagement and not restricting to just the insights from literature reviews. We had internal team brainstorming exercises too to capture as many ideas as possible.
