Ill Boss is a newly incorporated Texas nonprofit corporation seeking its founding Board of Directors. We are building something that has never existed quite like this before — and we need the right people in the room.

About Ill Boss

Ill Boss™ is a nonprofit organization dedicated to educating, empowering, and advocating for individuals living with chronic and invisible illness — with an intentional focus on rare disease patients, conditions that disproportionately affect women, and conditions that disproportionately and specifically affect Black women.

We believe in Sustainable Sovereignty: the idea that illness should not strip you of your ability to build a dignified, self-determined life. Our programs include patient education, peer advocacy training, a free health tracking app, entrepreneurship support for chronically ill business owners, and a micro-grant fund for chronically ill creatives.

Ill Boss was founded by Ashley Nicole Johnson, a Dallas-based creative entrepreneur and rare disease patient living with Polycythemia Vera, chronic migraine, chronic fatigue, hypertension, anxiety, and depression.
