This article is designed to give you a brief run through of how to configure your podcast feed so that your metadata (e.g. your Title
, Description
, Categories
and more) is usable by Apple Podcasts, other podcast platforms and apps.
Select Podcast Settings from your dashboard to view your RSS Feed Settings
.
Ensure you have a Title
, Description
and Logo
for your podcast. These three fields are used across our site your RSS Feed
, and anywhere else you are distributing to using your RSS Feed
.
Note: Your logo needs to be at least 1400x1400px to be accepted by Apple Podcasts and other distribution platforms.
You need to select at least one category that relates to the content of your podcast. If only one category seems relevant that is fine.
Ensure you have the correct podcast language code. Your language code should be the primary language your podcast uses.
Note: If your language code is incorrect, you risk having your podcast removed from Apple Podcasts.
You have two options, Episodic
and Serial
, here's a brief explanation:
Specify episodic for stand-alone episodes or when you want your episodes presented and recommended last-to-first.
For new subscribers, Apple Podcasts adds the latest, most recent episode in their Library.
Specify serial when you want your episodes presented and recommended first-to-last. This option supports narratives, storytelling, thematic, and multiple seasons.
For new subscribers, Apple Podcasts adds the first episode to their Library, or the entire current season if using seasons.
