Goal:

<aside> πŸ’‘ To support the rebranding and site redesign of Springboard, an online learning company that offers bootcamps in fields such as data science, software engineering, cybersecurity, and more.

This part of the brand redesign aimed to reflect the new Springboard brand and voice while giving prospective students access to up-to-date course information and empowering them to make an informed decision before enrolling.

In summary:

The objective was to strike the right balance of readability, providing enough information for prospective students to make an enrollment decision.

<aside> πŸ’‘ Surveys showed that student prospects engaged with four main areas of the website and that the highest clickable areas of the website ranked as follows:

1. Course landing page curriculum modules (43%) 2. Syllabus (37%) 3. Student stories (24%) 4. Outcomes (16%)

Why It’s Important:

<aside> πŸ’‘ Curriculum modules and the syllabus received 1 and 2 rankings, respectively. Since students are spending a significant amount of money on upskilling and reskilling, the challenge was to provide them with a preview of course content, establish clear expectations, and ensure the content they read is accessible and engaging.

Process:

<aside> πŸ”‘ I collaborated with the Creative Director and Director of Product Marketing to work on the content design of each syllabus, designing and delivering a standardized content template and then iterating on and customizing the design for each course.

We honed in on key differentiators that made Springboard stand out among other online bootcamps:

A program overview section also offered prospective students with a brief description of each unit and the key topics covered.

We then incorporated the curriculum into both paid and unpaid landing pages, condensing the information in the syllabus into clear, web-friendly microcopy.
