Collide Capital is an institutional seed vehicle that sits at the intersection of four of the most compelling Founder ecosystems in the Country: academia, culture, venture, industry. Collide is led by Aaron Samuels and Brian Hollins, two emerging Black GPs with a passion for challenging the norms of the venture capital industry for the next 20+ years.
Collectively, they have deployed $1.3M into 34 direct investments, and they have spent the past 2 years developing an investment track record that has prepared them to succeed as Institutional Fund managers. Their "Fund Zero" portfolio already includes 10 up-rounds and 3 acquisitions.
While we are technically deploying Fund 1, we spent the past two years building relationships backing incredible founders in emerging markets where we see attractive opportunities for outsized returns. We raised a proof-of-concept vehicle of $1.3M syndicated from Tier 1 venture firms: Canaan Partners, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Flybridge Capital and Pear VC. We took a “walk before you run” approach to building a firm, and as a result, learned where we win and how we add value to founders.
