The Principles
These are the principles for our remote-first culture:
- Our default way to communicate is async through record creation; like writing or recording a video that can be easily referred back to
- We use synchronous communication strategically; for nuanced conversations like giving feedback or for personal & professional development
- We have a balance of real-time & remote collaboration; through the use of Heads Together & Heads Up
- We create time to focus on deep work; by communicating async as default we have more time to get our Heads Down
- We aim to centralise & make permanent all of our documentation; like this handbook
- We have the right tools; through good use of Google, Slack & Miro
- All of the above equips us to be an inclusive place to work
