📘 Instructions for Writing Your Teaching Reflection
Thank you for being open to contributing. Your reflection will be used solely as part of an academic job application and will help search committees and Parsons DT faculty better understand how students experienced the learning process. Your honest evaluation will be greatly appreciated.
There is no required length — a short paragraph is absolutely fine.
Please focus on your learning experience, such as:
- Course structure & clarity
- How the class was organized
- Whether expectations, assignments, and goals were clear
- How the course supported your learning process over time
- Guidance & feedback
- How feedback, critiques, or 1:1 guidance supported your work
- Whether feedback helped you think more deeply, iterate, or grow
- Learning outcomes
- What you learned conceptually, technically, or critically
- How your thinking, skills, or confidence developed
- Classroom environment
- The learning atmosphere (rigor, openness, respect, collaboration)
- How discussions, critiques, or peer learning were facilitated
- Impact (optional but helpful)
- How this course influenced your approach to design, research, or future work
- What can be improved?
Important notes
- This is not a performance review or rating.
- Honest, reflective perspectives are more helpful than praise.
- You are welcome to write in your own voice.
- You may sign your name or remain anonymous — either is completely fine.
