for our last free day of the trip (technically), starr, laura, lauren, ashleigh, sara, and i went to a cove beachy area. we walked to the bus stop, but were confused where it was and how to get a ticket. we asked a store manager who told us that the bus stop was right outside their store. but they tricked us. a couple guys in a truck passed by and told us the bus stop was under a big tree down the street. we ran to the tree, caught the bus, but they only took cash. we didn't have any, so we went to an atm, got some, and got on the next bus. once in sorrento, we walked down a long path to get to the cove. once there, we had to figure out where to put our stuff. starr walked over to a ledge of ancient roman ruins, while the rest of us went over to a bunch of rocks. the water was the perfect temperature.
we swam around and eventually swam through the tunnel into the open ocean. once there, we climbed up on some rocks where other people were hanging out and saw someone jump off the cliff into the water. lauren wanted to jump too, so laura, ashleigh, and i went with. lauren jumped first, then laura, then ashleigh, and finally me. while up there, a group of italian boys cheered us on. it was lowkey stressful and super nerve-wracking. i closed my eyes and jumped off the ledge, free-falling for what felt like forever, before sinking into the water. it was probably the craziest thing i’ve ever done. after lauren jumped a second time, we went back through the tunnel and swam around a little more before hanging out on the rocks for a bit. laura laid down and slept for a while, starr was reading on her rock, lauren and sara were looking at fish and taking photos/videos, and i was reading and tanning.
after a bit, we left the area, walked around to a couple stores, and met up with chad before dinner. we stopped by an english pub restaurant, then went to the real restaurant for dinner, where we had gnocchi and steak. the food was okay; i’m not a huge fan of gnocchi. after dinner, we went back to the hotel, packed all our things, showered, and went to bed as soon as possible before the early morning.
