Some friendly competition is a great way to engage any group of people. It's also a great way to attract new members. Giving people a stage to showcase their work or achievements, some cool rewards, and some time pressure are common ingredients for successful community challenges.

Pro tips

• Incentivise people, give them a clear reason to participate. It can be a prize or 1 minute of fame
• Be very clear about the instructions (rules, deadlines, etc..)
• Provide enough examples and tips to get people started
• It may help to create a jury panel of people respected by the community
