1. Planning
- [ ] Ensure the land or property the aircraft will be launched from is available for use by corporate non-profit entities, or is permitted for use by CAP through specific agreements.
- [ ] Present an overview of your Activity Plan to your squadron commander. If approved, continue further planning.
- [ ] The member with primary responsibility for Direction of the Activity performs Deliberate Risk Management and drafts a CAPF 160. If possible, include your squadron’s safety officer in the process to enhance the quality of Risk Management. Activity Director signs the CAPF 160.
- [ ] Submit the Final Activity Plan and CAPF 160 for approval and signature through the OPSS system. All fields (except Legal) must show green before the event is authorized. If the event is a fundraiser, the Legal field must also show green. (This OPSS process is an AZWG-Specific Step)
2. Cadets
- [ ] If cadets from your unit are involved, ensure individual CAPF 60-80* permission slips (or equivalent) have been filled out. If parents agree, you may designate the slip as Perpetual and use the same slip for ongoing/recurring events at one specific location. Keep these in your event administration binder.
- [ ] If cadets from another unit are involved, ensure you get written permission from their home unit commander, in addition to their CAPF 60-80*. Attempt to get Perpetual permission from the Commander. Keep these in your event administration binder.
*Cadets over 18 do not require a CAPF 60-80.
3. Day-Of
- [ ] For recurring events, periodically updated your CAPF 160 to reflect new risks/hazards and other changes, in accordance with CAPR 160-1, 3.3.1.2 Recurring Events. Keep the updated CAPF 160 ****in your event administration binder.
- [ ] Print an attendance sheet from eServices. Give completed sheets to squadron commander.
- [ ] Current, qualified CAP sUAS PIC directly supervise anyone operating non-STEM sUAS.
- [ ] All members flying have TRUST certificate (if outdoors).
